By using WildLogger you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
1. Who can use WildLogger
You must be 16 or older to create an account. You’re responsible for keeping your account secure.
2. The service
WildLogger is a wildlife/safari field-journal and community app. Logging your journal locally is free and unlimited. Optional paid plans (Plus / Family) add cloud features. We may improve, change, or discontinue features over time.
3. Subscriptions & billing
Paid plans are auto-renewable subscriptions sold through Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple ID; subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings — cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge. Refunds are handled by Apple under their terms. Owners of an active eligible Safari park-app subscription may receive Plus at no extra charge while that subscription is active.
4. Your content and the licence you grant
You own your content (your sightings, notes, and photos). To run the service, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, back up, and display your content to you and to people you choose to share it with.
Additional, opt-in uses (you control these in Settings, off by default):
- Reference images: if you enable “let my photos be used as species reference images,” you grant The Safari Guy a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use those photos as species reference images across The Safari Guy apps (including paid features), and externally under CC BY-NC.
- Science sharing: if you enable sharing for science, eligible sightings may be published to iNaturalist (→ GBIF) under CC BY-NC, with sensitive-species protection applied.
You can withdraw these consents and delete your content at any time. Note that content already published externally (e.g. to iNaturalist/GBIF) may not be fully retractable.
5. Community rules (acceptable use)
WildLogger’s community is a warm, safe place. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content. By posting you confirm that your content is yours to share and agree not to post anything that is:
- hateful, harassing, threatening, or discriminatory;
- sexual, violent, or otherwise objectionable;
- illegal, infringing, or deceptive;
- exposing precise locations of sensitive/endangered species or otherwise facilitating poaching or harm to wildlife.
6. Moderation, reporting, blocking, and removal
You can report content and block other users in the app. We may review, remove, or restrict content and suspend or remove users who violate these Terms, at our discretion. We aim to act on valid reports promptly.
7. Protecting wildlife
Locations of sensitive/endangered species are always coarsened, delayed, and place-names hidden before any sharing. You must not attempt to circumvent these protections or use the app to locate, disturb, or harm wildlife.
8. Your responsibilities
You agree to use WildLogger lawfully, to respect others, to respect park and wildlife regulations, and not to misuse, scrape, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the service.
9. Disclaimers
WildLogger is provided “as is.” We don’t guarantee that species identifications, maps, weather, or other information are accurate or complete. Use good judgement in the field; your safety and lawful conduct are your responsibility.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including your statutory consumer rights).
11. Termination
You can stop using WildLogger and delete your account anytime (Settings → delete account; 30-day grace, then permanent deletion). We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms; we’ll post the new effective date and, for material changes, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence.

Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the app or its content. Standard Apple EULA terms also apply to subscriptions purchased via the App Store.
